Physician dispensing is allowed in Delaware with no dispensing permit required. Physician Assistants (PAs) and Advanced Practice Registered Nurses (APRNs) may also dispense under their respective licenses. Practitioners who wish to dispense controlled substances must apply for a Controlled Substances Registration and maintain an active DEA registration. PAs and APRNs are limited to dispensing no more than a 72-hour supply of controlled substances.

For more information, see the Frequently Asked Questions page of the Delaware Division of Professional Regulation or Delaware Administrative Code Title 24, Section 2500.
