Physicians in Oregon can dispense medications to their patients in the ordinary course of practice once they are registered as a dispensing physician. Registering as a dispensing physician requires a simple application with the Oregon Medical Board and is designated on the physician’s state medical license. The current dispensing physician registration form can be found here. As always, all state and federal regulations must be followed when dispensing, including drug storage and labeling requirements.
