Physicians may dispense non-controlled legend (prescription) drugs in New Mexico under their state medical license to patients under their care, so long as they comply with all state and federal regulations (including labeling and drug storage requirements). Physicians may also dispense controlled medications once they have applied for and received a facility controlled substances registration. More information on practitioner dispensing may be found here, and the controlled substances application can be found on the New Mexico Regulation & Licensing Department website. The fee for this registration is currently $60 per year.
