Physician dispensing in Mississippi is allowed, but physicians must register with the Mississippi State Board of Medical Licensure as a dispensing physician and obtain at least 10 hours of Category 1 AMA- or AOA-approved CME in the area of Pharmacology and/or Dispensing of Medication in order to dispense. Physicians may also be subject to routine inspections and must personally dispense medications to patients; physicians may not delegate dispensing authority to other providers. You can find more detail about Mississippi dispensing regulations here.
