Physicians who wish to dispense medications in Florida must register with the Florida Department of Health as a “dispensing practitioner” and pay a fee (currently $100). Physicians may also submit a form to the Florida Department of Health that allows them to delegate dispensing duties to a registered Physician Assistant (PA). More information on registering as a dispensing practitioner is available here.

Florida does not allow practitioners to dispense Schedule II and Schedule III controlled substances.
